Philip Lichtenfeld, M.D. FAAFP
Philip Lichtenfeld, M.D., FAAFP received his medical training from Georgetown University School of Medicine and the University of Missouri. He has been licensed by the State of California as a Physician and Surgeon since 1979, and is a member of the American and California Academies of Family Physicians.
In 1998 Dr. Lichtenfeld was awarded the honor of Fellowship in the American Academy of Family Physicians, and received the American Medical Association’s Physician’s Recognition Award (1998-2000).
He has served as Medical Co-Director of the Maharishi Ayurveda Health Center in Pacific Palisades (Los Angeles), as a volunteer physician at the Venice Family Clinic (which provides free medical care to the homeless and indigent) and as Medical Co-Director of the Chronic Pain Center in Inglewood. In 1985, he opened his office in Encino, California, where he continues to practice both traditional and holistic medicine.
Throughout his career, Dr. Lichtenfeld has taken an active interest in alternative medicine. He studied Ayurveda with some of most highly-respected and world renowned Ayurvedic Physicians in India, the U.S. and Canada and is a certified practitioner of Maharishi Ayurveda. He has also studied acupuncture, homeopathy, botanicals, massage therapy, energetic medicine, and is a long-term practitioner and teacher of meditation.
All these studies enhanced a keen sensitivity to his patients. He offers comprehensive treatment options that promote wellness and longevity. These include western medicine, as well as diet, exercise, natural supplements, and medicinal herbs. “I focus on personalized care and aspire to help my patients maintain optimal health by combining the best that allopathic and alternative medicine have to offer,” says Dr. Lichtenfeld.
Dr. Lichtenfeld has been practicing allopathic and alternative medicine including Ayurveda at his Encino office in the San Fernando Valley area of Los Angeles, California for the past 25 years. He also shares a second office with another physician in Beverly Hills.
